St. Isidore Historical Plaza in Los Alamitos had a fantastic inaugural New Year’s Eve dance decked out with all white and black balloons and soft lights pervading.

“Joe Ramirez, family and friends did a fabulous job putting the dance together,” said St. Isidore Historical Plaza Board Member Anita Schommer.

Benny Vargas and his DeNada band played the night away with rock’n roll oldies such as “At Last,” and a white tent was erected near the entrance to the Plaza Hall along with outdoor heaters and tables available.

“I had the good fortune to sit with and get acqainted with Leonard and Gabby Rodriguez,” said Schommer. “They had come from Westminster, one of the Plaza’s neighboring communities, and were an older couple who danced and danced.”

“The place was filled with many couples and singles alike,” she continued.

St. Isidore Historical Plaza is hoping to make this an annual event.
