Los Al All Stars qualify for So Cal State Championships

The Los Alamitos Girls Softball All-Star teams had a chance to qualify for the Southern California All Star “B” State Championships. The 8 and Under team did qualify with a second place finish at the District Championships at Aliso Viejo on June 26.
After dropping their second-round game, the 8U Red All-Stars battled back through the elimination bracket to reach the title game.
Of their eight games, the 8U Red team went to an International Tie-Breaker in five games.

Of their eight games, the 8U Red team went to an International Tie-Breaker in five games.
They defeated Cypress, 3-0, in their first elimination game. They followed that with an 3-0 win over Huntington Beach and then an 8-6 win over Orange Canyon. They then edged Mission Viejo, 5-3, to get to the title game against Irvine. Irvine squeezed out a 6-5 win to take the title, but the Los Alamitos team advanced to the State Tournament as a top 4 team.
Los Alamitos played in the Southern California All Star “B” State Championship, in Lancaster, Ca., from July 8-10.
