WCC Red, White and You Picnic

The Woman’s Club of Cypress (WCC) held its annual summer picnic for approximately 30 members and guests at Veteran’s Park in Cypress on July 9. While enjoying hot dogs, unique entrees, salads and desserts, the social event allowed seasoned members to share information about the numerous volunteer opportunities the club has to offer.

“The Woman’s Club is very blessed to have so many talented women who are very generous and giving of their time and efforts,” said Dodie Jacobsen, past president and 40+ year member. Dodie enjoys the camaraderie of her WCC friends while supporting the Precious Life Shelter in Los Alamitos and the Cypress Public Library ‘Friends of the Library.’ She also participates in WCC fundraising bazaars and Bunco evenings.

“Club members can find any number of volunteer opportunities that may appeal to them,” said Publicity Chairman Donna Holder. “It makes you feel good knowing you are instrumental in providing community service through volunteering and fundraising.”

Some of the many community projects the club is involved with include Interval House (domestic violence shelter), HOPE (Helping Other People Everyday) Orangewood Children’s Center and Cancer Angels.
