City officials estimate that more than 20,000 people joined together on the flightline of the Joint Forces Training Base, to celebrate Independence Day on Friday.

The event was a joint venture by the cities of Los Alamitos, Cypress and Seal Beach, along with the community of Rossmoor and the Joint Forces Training Base. It was the 27th Annual Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular event in the city.

The day included military bands, food and merchandise vendors and a kid zone play area with mechanical and inflatable rides. The day ended with a 22-minute fireworks display.

“It was a phenomenal patriotic celebration for the entire community,” Los Alamitos Director of Recreation and Community Services, Corey Lakin said.
