Weaver Elementary School celebrated the opening of its new Media Center, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sept. 19.

This celebration was the culmination of two years of modernization. The modernization was made possible through the generous support of Measure K and the Los Alamitos Unified School District. All classrooms received new walls, floors, doors and windows.  New technology was installed in every classroom.

The restrooms, kitchen, office and Kids Korner were all given a facelift.

“We are so grateful for our new improved facilities,” Principal Erin Kominsky said. “The students are excited to learn in their new environment.”

The ceremony included Diana Hill from the Board of Education, and Dr. Sherry Kropp, District Superintendent. Hill was on the original committee to pass Measure K long before she was a board member.
