St. Irenaeus fourth and fifth graders made up the children's choir that sang with Australian singer and songwriter Andrew Chinn at the 2012 Religious Education Congress in Anaheim on March 23.

The 18 students who performed with Andrew and his fellow Australian singers, John Burland and Michael Mangan, practiced for several weeks at school for the concert under the direction of St. Irenaeus Music Director Kim Wargo.

A few days before the lunchtime concert in Anaheim, the acclaimed Australian singers arrived in the United States and began practicing with the students in person.  After a little more rehearsal time, they put on a concert for all the St. Irenaeus students.

In Anaheim, the children's choir sang and signed with Andrew, John, and Michael at a lunchtime concert for an enthusiastic crowd that included faculty, parents, and parish staff members from St. Irenaeus in Cypress.

The Religious Education Congress is sponsored by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and has been annually in Anaheim since 1968.
