The City of Cypress’ AGENT Program and the Small Business Administration (SBA) held a timely and informative workshop on “What You Need to Know About The Affordable Healthcare Act” on Sept. 24 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Cypress Community Center.

The City of Cypress’ AGENT Program and the Small Business Administration (SBA) held a timely and informative workshop on “What You Need to Know About The Affordable Healthcare Act” on Sept. 24 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Cypress Community Center.

Guest speakers were Paul Smith, Economic Development Specialist, SBA, Sheree Coates, Economic Development Specialist, and Rich Hines, Director of SHOP sales – Southern California, Covered California.

Business leaders in attendance learned how to prepare for the legislation, their responsibilities under the law, where to get assistance, what is the Covered California Insurance Exchange, as well as having their specific questions answered by the experts.

The next AGENT Program and SBA co-sponsored workshop will take place in early 2014.  Program details will be announced in the near future.
