The Rossmoor Woman’s Club continues community work throughout the summer months with one of their most rewarding efforts being when members recently cooked for residents of the Long Beach Ronald McDonald House.

Club members grilled wieners, made salad, baked beans and cookies for the residents who are families of seriously or chronically ill children at hospitals in Long Beach.

Other club community work included the delivery to a recycling center of 75 pounds of used batteries and small electronics by member Bobbie Parks, while member Lina LoBasso baked more than 100 beautifully decorated cakes for the Precious Life Shelter in Los Alamitos.

Also proudly serving the local community were members Sheri Mansfield, Ellen Odell, and Maggie Paul who bought more than $500 worth of clothing, toiletries and games to vets at the VA Hospital in Long Beach.
