Los Alamitos Unified School District recently announced two new principals for two schools in the district. Amy Belsha has been selected as the new Principal for Rossmoor Elementary School and Roni Ellis has been selected as the new Principal for McGaugh Elementary School.
With 11 years of experience as an educator, Belsha’s leadership skills and core beliefs make her an ideal match for Rossmoor’s students, families, and staff. This past year, Belsha joined the district and served as the Assistant Principal at McGaugh Elementary.

When asked about being named Rossmoor’s next principal, Belsha said, “It is an honor to join Los Alamitos Unified School District and to have the opportunity to work with Rossmoor’s students, staff, families, and community members. I look forward to joining an amazing team and continuing the legacy of excellence at Rossmoor Elementary!”
Ellis began her career as an elementary teacher and mentor teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District where she also served as a program coordinator, instructional advisor, and language arts coordinator.
“I am thrilled to be in a school district that values high expectations for students and staff and knows the value of their own community,” said Ellis. “Over the years, I have heard about the outstanding opportunities provided to the students of McGaugh by a committed staff and strong parent partnerships. I am proud to be part of this tradition,”
Ellis received her Bachelor of Arts degree from CSU Fullerton and her Master of Science Degree in School Management and Administration from Pepperdine University.
Belsha received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at California State University, Long Beach and she received her Master of Arts Degree in Educational Administration in 2009.
