It’s pretty easy to tell how talented Los Al InvenTeams students really are by one look at their website. They are working on a water purification system designed to be usable by underdeveloped countries in Africa and other third world nations.

As part of a routine stop, Leigh Estabrooks came to Los Alamitos High School last week and offered her support for the project. The students along their coach and sponsor, Mr. Valenzuela, will head out to Cambridge this summer to compete for the nation’s top prize.

One of two fully funded programs in California, the Los Al InvenTeam has already achieved so much in the past two years of partnering with Lemelson – MIT.  Under the guidance of College & Career Counselors, Ms. Eatmon and Ms. Davenport, the students are well-prepared to succeed at MIT in just a few months.
