Premiere FC of Los Alamitos allowed only two goals last weekend during their championship run at the 19th annual Pateadores Cup held at Westminster High School.
Under the leadership of coach Lyle Stamps and assistant Julio Santillan, the local squad picked up its second tournament victory in a month following an undefeated run in the Pats Cup, which saw the team outscore its opponents 11-2.
The competition started out as well as anyone could’ve hoped for. A 5-1 trashing of their opponents began the weekend, followed by consecutive 2-0 wins.

In the final, the team faced an FC Premiere team out of Bosco. The game was close for the full game. So close, that double overtime was forced after the game stayed tied at 1-1.
The deadlock, however, didn’t force penalty kicks in the end. The local team made sure of that.
In the dying breaths of the game, Los Al Premiere’s Mia Farris made the breakthrough with a goal that handed her team a 2-1 lead and the tournament victory.
