David and Edna Ethington of La Palma, recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary by taking their four children, their children’s spouses, and six grandchildren on a week-long cruise to Alaska in June of 2013.
David and Edna Ethington of La Palma, recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary by taking their four children, their children’s spouses, and six grandchildren on a week-long cruise to Alaska in June of 2013.
They celebrated their actual wedding anniversary date by renewing their wedding vows at at an evening Mass at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church in Cypress with Father Patrick Moses officiating and their family members in attendance.
Fr. Patrick blessed the couple with a special Nuptial Blessing and parishioners added their blessings. Edna is originally from Hawaii and David is originally from Iowa. David converted to Catholicism prior to their marriage in 1963. David said that he felt the same feelings during the exchange of vows that he did when he married Edna in 1963. Edna said that she was so happy to have enjoyed 50 years with David as husband, father and grandfather, and looked forward to many more years with him with God’s blessings.
