July 4th event returns to JFTB

The 27th Annual 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular is taking place at the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos on Friday, July 4. The cities of Los Alamitos, Cypress, Seal Beach, the community of Rossmoor, and the Joint Forces Training Base collaborate to host this annual event to honor the men and women of the military, and to celebrate the country’s birthday.

There will be flyovers from military aircraft, before the event’s climax at 9 p.m. with one of the best and longest fireworks displays in Southern California.

The 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular will include free activities like military displays, sponsor booths with giveaways and information, and live music on the main stage. For a minimal cost, you can enjoy an extensive Family Fun Zone and fantastic food from several fabulous food vendors that will be serving a variety of dinner options, desserts, and snacks.

The event and fireworks display will once again take place on the runways of the military installation. The event area will be closer to parking, making the event’s proximity for the elderly and handicapped closer. The layout also provides a much cleaner seating area for participants to sit, enjoy the entertainment and view the fireworks. Biking onto the installation is allowed but all riders must wear a helmet.

Lawn chairs and blankets are highly encouraged, as there is no bleacher seating available. Motor homes, alcohol, dogs, BBQs, and fireworks are not permitted at this event.

Parking on the military installation is highly recommended. Everyone over the age of 16 entering the Joint Forces Training Base must present photo identification at the main gate and children must be accompanied by parents/guardian. The cities of Los Alamitos and Cypress will be collecting a $5 parking fee per vehicle to support the event. Parking will be free to those with a military ID.

Gates to the base will open at 4:00 p.m. via Lexington Dr. entrance off of Katella Ave.  Due to heightened security, please be patient and allow plenty of time to enter the base.
