The Chabad’s Annual Purim Concert will feature Jewish music’s hottest band, the 8th Day on Sunday, Feb. 24 at the Eagles Nest Clubhouse at 5660 Orangewood (off Valley View) in Cypress. Tickets start at $5 for students, and $20 for adults.

The Los Alamitos Jewish rock band made it big with a YouTube music video of their Hebrew song, “Ya’alili.” The video, which was played on Israeli television, was viewed by almost 2 million viewers across the globe. The band has released two albums and toured the U.S., Israel, Australia and Canada. They were co-founded by brothers Shmuel and Bentzi Marcus, the children of Rabbi Yitzchak and Ita Marcus of Chabad of Los Alamitos. The group’s first show raised money for Rabbi Shmuel Marcus’s Hebrew High program in Los Alamitos.

The band’s fresh and unique sound is complimented by catchy lyrics (mostly English with some Hebrew and Yiddish mixed in), with spirited vocal harmonies. Their hit song, ”Ya’alili” took the world by storm in 2011 and is still one of the most popular songs in Jewish music today.

The group’s most recent critically acclaimed worldwide album, “All You Got”, was released in June, 2012. It was one of the top selling albums of Jewish music in 2012. Fans and critics alike continue to be enthralled with the creativity and innovation of this one-of-a-kind music group. Visit them online to watch all their videos at www.my8thday.com.
