After returning from their “Winter-Ring” Tour to Chicago and Milwaukee, the Concert Handbells of Concordia University, Irvine will be featured on the fourth Sunday Serenade 2013-2014 Concert Season at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Cypress on Sunday, March 30 at 4 p.m.
They will perform a broad repertoire of sacred and secular works appealing to all ages and tastes. The performance will include hymn tunes, popular arrangements, original works and change ringing for a full ensemble. Solo and quartet will be accompanied by a variety of instruments. The concert concludes with a hands-on audience participation sing-along.
Directed by Dr. Herb Geisler with coaching by Nancy Jessup, the 13 concert ringers represent one of the largest and most experienced university handbell choirs in the nation. Concordia handbells have performed in 33 states and 10 nations in Europe and Asia.
Tickets are available by calling the church office at 714-527-7225 or 562-596-5914 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. daily, and are also available at the door. Suggested donations for tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and $7.50 for students. A reception follows immediately after the performance in the Fellowship Hall. Holy Cross Lutheran Church is located at 4321 Cerritos Avenue in Cypress.
