Sophomore Dani Iwami led the Griffins (13-6) with 13 points, while sophomore Sarah Herman added nine points and a team-high nine rebounds. Senior Ericka Nilsen has six points and also pulled down seven rebounds. Sophomore Brianna Flynn had five points, four rebounds and three blocks for the Griffins.
On Thursday, the Griffins topped Edison, 39-32, led by 18 points from Iwami. Flynn chipped in eight points and junior Bayley Hagino added five. Nilsen had nine rebounds for the Griffins to help hold off Edison.
The Griffins are off until Tuesday (Jan. 24), when they will host Huntington Beach High at 7 p.m. The Oilers came into this week leading the Sunset League at 4-0, with the Griffins right behind them at 3-1.
