The 2021 Girl Scout Cookie Season will be like no other as girls get creative to bring America’s favorite cookies safely to customers and share the joy of Girl Scout Cookies through the largest girl-led entrepreneurship program.

The Girl Scout Cookie Program runs through March 7 in Orange County and online ordering is available now from Orange County Girl Scouts. For the first time, girls will also take contact-free pickup and delivery orders through a new national collaboration with Grubhub.

A New Cookie for Orange County!
This year, Girl Scouts of Orange County will offer the highly anticipated new cookie– Toast-Yay!™. This French toast–inspired cookie is dipped in delicious icing with flavor in every bite. Toast-Yay! gives consumers a new way to celebrate moments of joy alongside other favorites, like Thin Mints® and Caramel deLites®, and more.

Innovative New Girl-led Sales Methods
The Girl Scout Cookie Program has long taught girls how to run a business via booths in front of retail stores, door-to-door activity, and the Digital Cookie® platform. With the COVID-19 pandemic, Girl Scouts are faced with the same challenges as other businesses and are creatively pivoting to safely bring America’s favorite cookies to residents across Orange County. Girls are continuing to embrace their entrepreneurial spirit, stay connected to their communities, and have fun by participating in the cookie program. Proceeds from each and every purchase stay local with the troop and council to power amazing experiences for Orange County Girl Scouts.

New this year – Girl Scouts of Orange County is inviting local businesses to participate in The Great Girl Scout Cookie Buy Out, an easy way to support local Girl Scout troops (and enjoy great-tasting cookies or donate them for a tax deductible option) at a time when traditional sales in front of retail locations may not be possible.

“While this year’s Cookie Season may look different, if there’s one thing we know that Girl Scouts never run out of – it’s innovation and creativity,” said Girl Scouts of Orange County CEO Vikki Shepp. “We are supporting our Girl Scout Cookie Bosses this year with exciting new online and contactless ways to reach their customers – including our new collaboration with Grubhub and The Great Girl Scout Cookie Buy Out, a way for Orange County businesses to support local Girl Scouts during this challenging time.”

Ordering Through Grubhub
Girl Scouts of Orange County is participating this year in a national collaboration with Grubhub, giving girls a new way to facilitate contact-free cookie orders. Beginning January 28, Orange County consumers can order Girl Scout Cookies for pickup or delivery on Grubhub.com or the Grubhub app. When they do, OC Girl Scouts will get hands-on experience managing e-commerce by tracking and fulfilling orders, managing inventory, and more, using Grubhub’s back-end technology. As always, proceeds benefit the local troop and council. GSUSA is grateful to Grubhub for waiving all fees to make this new delivery option feasible for Girl Scouts without reducing troops’ and councils’ proceeds.
