We strive to keep the small town charm of our beautiful community as the centerpiece of this race while promoting physical fitness for our children and raise funds for our excellent schools,” organizer Gus Quinonez said.

Quinonez praised the sponsors, volunteers and exhibitors as an integral part of making the event happen.

Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts were on hand, doing everything from flipping pancakes to handing out medals and water to the runners.

This year, the race drew some elite athletes. Their feedback for the course was very positive and it is the goal of the race to get certified by the USATF in time for next year’s event.

“But more importantly, the participants that live in our community had a great time and are looking forward to participating again next year,” Quinonez added.
