Dear Editor,
Dear Editor,
I have a review here of something Cypress City Councilman Doug Bailey mentioned in a council meeting recently about Prologis being in the city already. I investigated the companies they lease out. In my research Prologis has a certain pattern in cities it probes itself into. Here are some patterns I have noticed time and time again:
1. It establishes at least a couple of businesses in town that are non residential and then used for leasing to lucrative money making companies.
2. Next is the establishment of property, as they succeeded in getting the racetrack owners in getting for Measure L in last election in Cypress. Promised was a senior care facility in that vote and now it’s a “proposed” 33-Acre distribution warehouse facility with multiple truck bays they are asking for (100 or less they say now).
3. Next step is again reducing those truck bays to “appease to residents who are voting.”
4. Along with that there is a smear campaign to someone prominent (goes with the territory of political deception and corporate hunger for gain of property without negativity directly at the company). They do this by getting someone else to put out the ads and someone else to take the heat from the public who will get angry, of course.
5. They get to the voters directly in however they have to do it. They will even use the city to do the dirty work, for the city councils of these cities truly believe that Prologis is innocent, based on years experience of good intentioned business.
The rest is whatever else Prologis and their city and developer liaisons can come up with that will deter from the actual issue at hand.
Now, for more facts—the voters in Cypress are voting on Measure A soon. If they adhere to what the representatives for the Citizens for Responsible Development Stephen Mauss and George Pardon (Cypress residents) have to say, they will want to keep things beautiful in Cypress by voting Yes on Measure A. That is not what will happen though. That is a deception not even these two men understand themselves. All they “think” is that Prologis and the racetrack owners and the city council of Cypress will work with them to the better of the community. They get their project all right, but it will have morphed several times and come right back to the plan they want. The so-called reduction of bays will suddenly disappear. It happened in Carson and in Tracy, CA. There is also Newark as an example. Truck bays are needed for ocean freight as well as in air freight, although air freight is usually all on the consumer’s cost, not the manufacturer. I know about this because I worked in both the transportation and in the distribution warehouse industry prior to that. Both go hand in hand and if you think that there aren’t a lot of trucks in that business, take a good look around you. In Cypress there is already quite a few businesses conducting this kind of business. They need space and they are going to most certainly love the idea of these spaces by the Los Alamitos Race Track to be used for the purpose of a one-stop spot for all their dealings.
Take a look below for the two current companies of Prologis in Cypress, as Bailey announced only the fact that there were. He didn’t give details, but I will, thanks.

Dear Cypress residents who are voting on this one Measure A soon—please vote no. As a Seal Beach resident myself, if I was going to vote as a resident if this was in my community—I would vote no as well—it’s the sensible thing to do. Every community is behind you on this and they will thank you too—believe me!
