I am very grateful for all the staff and this opportunity to reflect on all they have done for me. The Boys & Girls Club has given me a home away from home where I can really be myself and feel accepted. What draws me into the club is the amount of opportunities it has. From the various virtual clubs, the amazing staff, and all the members, everyday being here is unique and different. The Boys & Girls Club gave me friendships I see myself having for a lifetime, as well memories that will last forever.”
Being named Youth of the Year is the highest honor a Boys & Girls Club member can receive. Since 1947, Youth of the Year has been Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s premiere recognition program, celebrating the extraordinary achievements of Club members. Youth of the Year recognizes outstanding contributions to a member’s family, school, community and Boys & Girls Club, as well as overcoming personal challenges and obstacles. Youth of the Year encourages Club members to reach their full potential by achieving academic success, leading healthy lifestyles and contributing to their communities.
