The After School Program includes homework assistance and tutoring by certified staff. Students utilize computers, and the schoolbooks used by local schools are available. The program also provides a variety of sports and academic-themed games and activities to round out the students’ time in the program. It is available to students in grades 2–12.
In partnership with area non-profit organizations, Edison chooses to invest in programs that strive to make the most impact, especially during economically challenged times.  In addition to the program grant, Edison provides information about its income-qualified programs to assist customers who are experiencing financial hardships.
Founded in 1952, the Youth Center serves children ages 5 –17 from Los Alamitos, Rossmoor and Seal Beach with a wide range of programs that include the After School program, Music Program, Summer Camp and more.  For more information about the Los Alamitos Youth Center, call 562-493-4043 or visit www.theyouthcenter.org.
