The Aquarium of the Pacific Holiday Tree

The Aquarium of the Pacific has announced an exciting array of holiday exhibits and activities.

In a press release this week, the aquarium announced it will be opened Saturdays and Sundays, November 28, to December 27, from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.

Here are the activites:
Discounted Late Nights
The Aquarium will offer Discounted Late Nights on Saturdays and Sundays kicking off Thanksgiving weekend and running through December. Those who make reservations to visit on weekends after 6:00 p.m. can enjoy the Aquarium’s outdoor exhibits for just $15 per person. Holiday Photo with a Penguin
Join us at the Aquarium for a chance to take your holiday family photos with a penguin. The Aquarium will set up a photo spot outdoors with holiday décor and one of our penguins in the mobile penguin cart. Reservations will be made in five-minute increments, allowing each family to pose and take a photo using their own camera or phone with a tripod provided. All participants age two and older must wear a mask or face covering. Does not include admission. All exhibits and galleries will be closed.
Cost: $25 per family, up to six people.

Virtual Holiday Treats for the Animals
10:00 a.m.-1:45 p.m.
Bring the magic of the holiday season to your home as you watch the Aquarium’s animals receive flavorful holiday delights during this free virtual event. In celebration of the holiday season, Santa Diver will dive with sharks, rays, and colorful fish in the Tropical Reef Habitat. The sea otter exhibit will be decked out with “fishmas” treats and real snow, and visitors can watch virtually as the otters savor their holiday treats. Aquarium staff members will give special treats to a sea lion and an octopus. A penguin will enjoy a holiday stroll to explore an indoor area of the Aquarium. Lorikeets will gather on a tree decorated with tasty cranberries. On Saturday, December 5, visit the Holiday Treats webpage for details on how to watch the virtual event.
Cost: This virtual event is free for everyone, no RSVP required.

Aquarium Holidays

Families can enjoy holiday décor and music as they visit the Aquarium’s outdoor areas with advance reservations. Take selfies with life-size cardboard cut outs of Aquarium mascots in their holiday finery. Look for our hidden “Santa in the Sea” figurine that will be placed in various spots throughout the outdoor areas of the Aquarium. The first twenty-five guests each day to correctly report the location of “Santa in the Sea” figurine will receive a small prize. Plus, get a start on holiday shopping at the Aquarium’s gift stores, which feature marine-related gifts. See some of our most popular gifts on our website. The Aquarium’s free virtual Hanukkah show will stream from the Aquarium Holidays webpage and social media on Saturday, December 12 at 10:00 a.m. with music, storytelling, and Pacific Pals puppets. The Aquarium’s free virtual Kwanzaa event will stream on the Aquarium Holidays webpage and social media on Saturday, December 26, at 10:00 a.m., with opportunity to learn about the principles and practices of Kwanzaa. All Aquarium Holidays programs are subject to change and weather dependent.
Cost: General Admission–$19 per person (outdoor areas only, reservations required). Hanukkah and Kwanzaa virtual programming is free.
